The number of recovery operators integrated into the ESR collection network continued to grow in 2018, with nearly 400 collection points. Furthermore, the implementation and the development of direct contractualisation with ESR has had a positive impact of collection, with 127,673 tonnes collected by waste management operators compared to 103,130 in 2017.
In 2018 the arrival of “open scope” and new products in the WEEE sector (luminaires, printer cartridges, electricity generators and electrical equipment) enabled new waste management operators to be integrated into ESR’s collection operations, in particular printer cartridge manufacturers.
Lastly, ESR carried out more than 700 visits in 2018 at partner waste management operator sites. Specific attention must be paid to the collection of cooling appliances, which is accompanied by a change in the basic tariff index and a new tonnage incentive. Waste management operators thereby remain connected to local authorities and retailers in terms of costs.
